MRPS Mahadharna for SC Categorization Bill

Published:

Activists of the Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) besieged the district collectorate Wednesday, demanding the Union government to ensure the passage of the Constitution Amendment Bill for Classified Caste Classification during the winter session of Parliament.

MRPS General Secretary T Babu Rao led the protest and said there should be no problem in passing the bill when the TDP, BJP and other parties have pledged in their election manifestos to micro-classify SCs for reservation in educational institutions and government jobs. Social justice can only be ensured through the categorization of SCs, said MRPS state secretary P Prabhudas. Madigas got more than 22,000 additional jobs when the categorization of SCs has been in place in the state for four years, said Samiti Prakasam President P. Narendra.

‘We cannot tolerate further delays on the issue of micro-classification of SCs,’ said MRPS city president A. Venkateswar.
