Tampa Bay Bucs released Tom Brady’s Good Friends

Published:

The Tampa Bay Bucs parted ways with one of Tom Brady’s closest teammates on Tuesday.

The team also released LB Genard Avery, safety Nolan Turner, kicker Jose Borregales and DL Benning Potoa’e.”

The veteran reserve has been with the team for the past eight seasons after being unselected at Tulane. Griffin spent 2021 on the practice squad but has been on the active roster for most of the past six years.

The 32-year-old doesn’t have much regular season experience, aside from a few games in 2019. But he has seen many preseason games and knows the Bucs’ system.

Griffin signed with Tampa in May. But right now it looks like the team is ready to move forward with Kyle Trask and Blaine Gabbert as reserves and welcome Griffin as a backup QB.
